We're delighted, and very proud, here at RootBeat HQ. Georgia Lewis, whose debut album we released last year, has been nominated for the Horizon Award at this year's BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. This is a huge endorsement from the folk cognoscenti, and caps a remarkable critical response to her debutĀ The Bird Who Sings Freedom. Songlines called it "An impeccable British folk album," with Rock n Reel giving it a 5-star review and an fRoots feature calling it "An impressive piece of work." In October, Georgia and her band recorded a special live track for Mark Radcliffe's BBC Radio 2 Folk Show, which became her second play on that show.
We look forward to the awards show in Belfast on 4th April.
